Calibangbangan is a small island home to the indigenous Tagbanua tribe, in the remote municipality of Linapacan in the Philippines. One little school serves every child on the island, providing education for more than 400 students across elementary and high school, and a safe space for them to learn, grow, and stay connected to their culture.

In November 2025, Typhoon Tino caused significant damage to the school's classrooms. Since then, teachers and students have been learning in temporary makeshift spaces built from light materials, including improvised bahay kubo huts, while repairs slowly continue through community support and donations. Today the school supports 247 elementary students from Kindergarten to Grade 6, and 160 high school students from Grades 7 to 10.

Donations to Calibangbangan go directly towards:

• School supplies including notebooks, pens, pencils, chalk and learning materials

• Tables and chairs for classrooms

• Repairs to typhoon-damaged classrooms

• Access to clean drinking water

• School uniforms, which many families struggle to afford. Uniforms cost around £5, around the price of a coffee back home and make a real difference for a child starting the new term.

Every donation translates into a physical supply drop or repair project, organised together with the school and our INTRO team on the ground. We'll share photos and updates from each one so you can see exactly where your contribution went.

This is a community that has kept showing up for its children through everything that's been thrown at them. We're proud to keep showing up alongside them.

When our groups visit, they spend time playing basketball and volleyball with the children, visiting classrooms, and joining in on cultural exchanges with the students. It's consistently one of the most memorable moments of the Philippines tour, for our group members and the kids alike.

Thanks to the generosity of our INTRO community, we've already been able to help repair roofing damaged by the typhoon. But the bigger challenges continue: a lack of permanent classrooms, and ongoing shortages of everyday essentials like desks, chairs, learning materials, and school uniforms. With the school term resuming on 8 June, we're working directly alongside the teachers to make sure the students have what they need.

El Trinidad Farm

We’re proud to support El Trinidad Farm, where tradition meets innovation. Here, fresh produce is shared through a brilliant bartering system, making sure no one goes hungry.

By backing the farm’s traditional eco-friendly methods, we help protect the land for future generations while giving our groups the chance to roll up their sleeves, learn hands-on and connect with local culture.

Together, we’re keeping farming sustainable, community-focused and rooted in pride.
