SRI LANKA

Monastery Visit

Our groups explore the spiritual heritage of Sri Lanka by visiting a local monastery. Here, they learn about Buddhism and the daily life of monks while engaging in an English lesson with young monks. In exchange, the group has the opportunity to practice Singhalese with the monks.

This experience enhances cross-cultural understanding and provides direct support to the educational initiatives for the monks, fostering a deeper appreciation for the local culture. It's an example of how responsible travel can contribute to the sustainable growth of both the community and our group members.

Sigiriya Village Visit

Take a step into the heart of Sri Lankan culture with a visit to a Sigiriya village, where we will experience a traditional ride on local farming equipment, followed by a peaceful boat ride across a man-made lake used for irrigation. We’ll also enjoy a cooking demonstration and a traditional lunch prepared by village women, learning about the many uses of coconuts in daily life.

This visit not only offers an immersive cultural experience but also directly supports local livelihoods by generating income for the community. By engaging with the locals, you promote sustainable tourism that respects and preserves their rich traditions.
