Tree Planting
Unfortunately travel is a big contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, such as CO2. This includes from transport, energy, and food production. We all know that CO2 causes global warming, so we wanted to do something to reduce our carbon footprint and make our tours carbon neutral.
Trees are fantastic at soaking up carbon and reducing CO2 from the atmosphere. So in 2023Â we decided to measure the CO2 emissions of all our tours. This was a massive undertaking, but working with a company called Path Net Zero, we managed to calculate the amount of CO2 that each tour emits.

We then started working with a company called Veritree to plant mangrove trees in Kenya. We decided to work with Veritree because they have excellent methods of ensuring that the trees that are planted remain planted and grow fully. And we decided to plant mangrove trees because they are cheap to plant, grow fast, and not only capture lots of carbon, but are good for marine life and preserving ecosystems.
We know how much CO2 each tree captures, and we plant more than enough trees to offset 100% of the emissions for every tour.
