Mkuzi Village

In Mkuzi, a rural village in South Africa's Zululand region, our groups stay in locally owned accommodation and visit the village crèche during their tour. It's one of the most powerful stops on our South Africa itinerary, and over the years we've built a genuine relationship with the families and children of Mkuzi.

Like many rural communities in the region, Mkuzi faces real challenges: high unemployment, limited access to healthcare, and schools doing incredible work with very few resources. The crèche is a lifeline for the youngest members of the community, providing meals, early education, and a safe place to grow.

Make a donation
Donations to Mkuzi go directly towards food supplies for the crèche, learning materials, play equipment, and whatever else the village identifies as their most pressing need.

Your small change will make a huge positive difference to the lives of the kids and the local community.

Soweto Guided Tour
A guided tour through Soweto offers an immersive look at the township’s vibrant culture and its historical significance in the anti-apartheid movement. Led by a local guide, this tour provides deep insights into the struggles and triumphs of the community, ending with a visit to the Apartheid Museum for a broader understanding of South Africa’s complex past.
Â
Group leaders should highlight the positive impact of these visits, which support local businesses and contribute to sustainable tourism while fostering cultural awareness among group members.

Zululand
Our groups visit a local Zulu village to learn about traditional life in the rural areas. They learn how the remote Zulu community live, about their traditional practices and get to enjoy an incredible display of traditional dancing.

Our groups love the experience and by visiting the village we're supporting the local community and making a real positive difference.
